Lee, with another record-breaking performance, set the pace for another good
session for the Jamaicans at the Central American and Caribbean Swimming
Championships (CCCAN) in
Santo Domingo
leading seven swimmers into this evenings finals.
Qualifying for the final in 6th position, Lee swam a personal
best 56.45 to break Kevin Thompson’s 13-14 100 M Freestyle National Age
Group Record of 56.71. In the same event, Todd Johnson swam a personal best
57.86 finishing 14th overall.
In the
15-17 Male 100 M Freestyle, Andrew Saunders missed the Andrew Phillips 22
years old Age Group Record by just .05 second, swimming 54.95 qualifying for
the final with teammate Jevon Atkinson who timed 55.11.
Allison
Bardowell made the Female 13-14 200 M Backstroke final in 8th
place with a time of 2:39.54. In the next event, Todd Johnson knocked 2
seconds off his personal best time 200 M Backstroke time swimming 2:30.30,
but failed to make the final.
Ramon
James qualified for the 18 and Over 100 M Butterfly final with the 7th
fastest time, when he swam 58.53.
Yesterdays record breaker Alia Atkinson is second alternate in the 11-12 100
M Breaststroke with a time of 1:24.00. In the 11-12 100 Butterfly, Brad
Hamilton swam a personal best 1:13.37 (14th) behind Travis Forte
who swam 1:10.70 (11th).
