NATIONAL SQUAD SWIMMERS OFF TO FLORIDA FOR THE FLORIDA GOLD COAST WINTER CHAMPIONHIPS

On Thursday, December 06, 2001, eleven (11) members of the Jamaica National Swimming Squad will fly out to Plantation to take part in the Florida Gold Coast Winter Championships.

The squad, which includes top age group stars Dominic Lee, Jason James, Brad Hamilton, Alford Green, Lance Rochester, Dave Smith and Travis Forte will find themselves up against some stiff competition, especially young Lee who will be swimming against  senior national breastroke record holder Adi Atkinson.

The girls, who include Katherine Chen, Khalilah Robinson, Kristie Irving and Rene Wright, Will Also Find Some Tough Opposition from fellow national team mates and record holders Allison Bardowell and Ali Atkinson.

Bardowell, Alia and Adi Atkinson will be representing Fort Lauderdale Swim Team., but are Currently Members of the Jamaica National Senior Squad.

The squad returns to Jamaica on Monday, December 10, by the  sponsors Air Jamaica.

Assistant National Coach Teddy Hayles will  accompany the team, while the  manager is Barbara Briggs.
