TORNADOES SWIM CLUB PRESS RELEASE TORNADOES INVITATIONAL SWIM MEET April 19, 2002 The 6th Annual Tornadoes Invitational Swim Meet will take place from April 26-28, 2002 at the National Stadium Pool. The Meet has attracted approximately 350 swimmers from ten (10) clubs including new comers the Barracudas and Dolphin Swim Clubs. The Meet will feature some of the island’s outstanding swimmers, who recently returned from the CARIFTA Swim Championships held in Barbados and placed second with 600 points and 36 medals. Outstanding performances are expected from Brad Hamilton who won 7 gold medals and broke 2 CARIFTA records and Rene Wright who won 2 gold medals. The Meet will feature an exciting format with Heats and Finals for the 50 and 100 metres for the 11-12 and 13 and over Age Groups. Prizes will also be awarded to Heat winners. Defending Champion is the Tornadoes Swim Club. End -
