
DOMINIC LEE
NAMED ALL AMERICAN IN 100 YARD BREASTSTROKE
October 27, 2003…… Dominic Lee has been named as Jamaica's lone "All-American" entry in an individual event, the 100 yard breastroke. Lee placed 45th in the 2002-2003 high school season. "All-American" accreditation is given by NISCA (National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) to those top high school performers in the United States. Dominic attained this status by being among the best swimmers from an Independent (private) school while representing Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania
Dominic as well as Timothy Wong, Jamaica's lone male representative at the
recent PAN-AM Games along with teammates Justin Smith and Abed Kaaki placed
third overall in the U.S. in the 200 medley relay. Smith 24.07, Lee, 27.03,Wong
23.52 and Kaaki 21.10 combined to take silver in 1:35.72 to attain that ranking
behind the Peddie school 1:35.13 (who were second nationally) at the Eastern
Interscholastic Swimming Championships. The top ranked team in this event was
St Xavier from Cincinnati in 1:34.06.
