TORNADOES INVITATIONAL SWIM MEET

March 8, 2004…..The seventh renewal of the Tornadoes Swim Club Invitational Meet will be held March 19-20, 2004 at the National Stadium Pool. The Meet has attracted entries from 10 Clubs with approximately 500 swimmers. Including in the participants are swimmers who have just qualified for the National Squad for the upcoming CARIFTA Swimming Championships to be held April 2004 in the Bahamas.

The Meet will be highlighted by the participation of national overseas based swimmers Dominic Lee and John-Claude Wright who will provide good competition for local swimmers Matthew Stewart, Brad Hamilton and Lemone Lowe. In the girls, Abiona Redwood, who has recently qualified for the USA NCAA Championships representing John Hopkins University, along with Katherine Chen, will challenge local swimmers Gillian Stewart, Tamari Farquharson, Rene Wright and Gillian Millwood.

The Meet promises to be very exciting as the rivalry continues between the top two (2) teams (The Y-Speedos and the host Club). Defending Champions for this Meet is the Y-Speedos Swim Club.
