HUNGARIAN WATER CLUB VASAS SC ARRIVE IN JAMAICA FOR TRAINING CAMP WITH JAMAICA’S NATIONAL TEAMS

Fourteen (14) players of the Hungarian Water Polo Team Vasas SC and their Coach Kunc Laszlo’ arrived in the island today to participate in a training camp with Jamaica’s National Water Polo Team preparing for the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Championships and the 13th FINA Junior Men’s Water Polo World Championships. Although all of the Vasas SC players are 15 years old, they placed second in Hungary’s Youth League in 2004.

The Hungarians will remain in Negril until July 6th, when they travel to Kingston for the training camp which will run from July 7th to July 16, 2005. Hungary has a very strong and active club programme with their men’s team currently ranked first in the world after winning the Gold Medal at last years Olympic Games. This is the second year running that National Coach Laszlo Borbely has used his Hungarian links to convince a club to train in Jamaica. Last year Jamaica’s male and female teams preparing for the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships (CISC) benefited from the presence of another Hungarian Club, BSVC.
