ISLAND AQUATICS INVITATIONAL 2005 SYNCHRO
COMPETITION
Island Aquatics Synchro Club will host the Santa Clara
Aqua Maids from California at the National Stadium Pool in
an invitational swim meet on Saturday February19th, 2005 beginning
at 9:00 am. The Santa Clara Aqua Maids
team consists of 10 girls competing in the 12 years and under; and 13 and 15
years group. The first half of the day will see our local team, Island Aquatics
competing with the overseas team in Figures, and then in afternoon they will
compete in solo, duet and team routines starting at 1:30pm. A Syncro Clinic will follow the competition on Sunday
February 20, 2005 at 8:30 am to 12:30pm at the National Stadium Pool. The
Olympian coaches will conduct the clinic.
The two coaches
accompanying the Santa Clara Aqua Maids are Natalie Bartleson,
Gold medalist in the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, and
Kendra Zanotta bronze medalist in the recently
concluded 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.
Our local swimmers are
aspiring to qualify for a place on the Jamaica National Synchronized Swimming
Team to compete at 2005 CARIFTA Swimming Championship to be held in Curacao in March, and are coached by Katherine Lim Sang.
This event is a must see for those of us wanting to see
world-class synchronized swimming. Come out in your numbers to support our
girls as they embark on the road to the Olympics.
