ASAJ INVITES 57 SWIMMERS TO NATIONAL SWIM SQUAD

The Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) has invited 57 local and overseas based swimmers to join the National Squad. The Squad has been selected based an established criteria and swim times submitted to the ASAJ by registered members. The invitees have been divided into three categories based on their performance level: Senior Squad 12 swimmers led by Alia Atkinson and Brad Hamilton; Junior Squad 20 swimmers and the Development Squad, 25 swimmers. Seven of the Senior Squad are either live or are in school overseas.

 

Swimming Technical Director, Jackie Walter, will oversea squad training as the swimmers prepare for selection to Jamaica’s team which will compete in the Commonwealth Games (Australia) and the CARIFTA Swimming Championships (Barbados) next year. All training sessions are held at the National Stadium Pool, the first of which will be held Wednesday September 21, 2005 (click here for training schedule).
