TORNADOES SWIM CLUB TAKES HOME THE WALTER LOWI SPRINT TROPHY

Fresh from their win at the ‘AB’ Short Course Swim Meet, the Tornadoes Swim Club today dethroned defending champions, the Y-Speedos Swim Club, to win the Walter Lowi Sprint Meet held at the National Stadium Pool.  The Tornadoes Swim Club finished with 871 points to Y-Speedos 744 points in the Age Group Category.    Completing the top five were; Blue Seals Swim Club – 209.50, Electric Eels Swim Club – 155.50 and Marlins Swim Club 146 points

 

Three (3) National Age Group Records were broken during the Meet.  Jason Adams set a new National Age Group Record of 29.33 seconds in the Boys 11-12 50M Butterfly while Dominique Dawson set the new standard in the Girls 13-14 50M Butterfly touching in 32.14 seconds and Dominic Lee in the Boys 15 and over 50M Breaststroke with a time of 30.55 seconds.

In the Masters Category, for swimmers 25 years old and over, the Tornadoes Swim also came out champions with 103 points over the Y-Speedos Swim Club who scored 45 points followed by Electric Eel - 34 and Royal Swim Club - 32 points respectively.

 

The next Meet on the ASAJ’s Calendar will be the ASAJ’s Development Meet on Saturday, November 26, 2005.
