ISLAND AQUATICS COMPETE IN DUTCH CARIBBEAN SYNCHRO COMPETITION

Eleven swimmers from the Island Aquatics Synchronized Swimming Club will today travel to Curacao to compete in the Dutch Caribbean Invitational Synchronized Swimming Competition to be held April 28-30 in Willemstad.

 

Curacao has invited 24 counties to participate in three age groups: 12 and under, 13 – 15 and 16-18. Island Aquatics has entered two duets in the 12 and Under Age Group paring Aslei Gayle with Jessica Lim Sang and Courtney Payne and Shannon March. Aslei Gayle will also swim in the solo competition.

 

The 13-15 Duet Competition will see two Jamaican pairs. Kathryn Williams will swim with Michelle-Ann Gabbadon while Juliet Goveia is paired with Gizelle Hall. Williams and Goveia will swim in the 15-16 solo competition as well.

 

Zahra Ennis and Kimberly Brown are Island Aquatics entries in the 16-18 Duet Competition while Monique Forrester is entered in the 16-18 Solo competition.

 

The team is being Managed by Tracey Payne, Island Aquatics representative on the Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica Council, and coached by Katherine Lim Sang.

 

The team will return to Jamaica on April 30, 2006.
