COACHES CLINIC

KINGSTON, JAMAICA

 

The Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica in conjunction with FINA through their FINA IOC Olympic Solidarity Development Programme 2006, will host a Swimming Coaches Clinic from May 31st to June 4th, 2006.

 

The presenter will be Matt Hooper of the American Swimming Coaches Association in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and also the World Swimming Coaches Association.

 

Matt is a former USA National Team swimmer and brings with him a wealth of experience from the local club level up to the National Olympic level. As a Coach at the club level he is experienced in all facets of club management. Including administration, team and meet management, with National Olympic Organizations (USA and Guatemala) working on aquatic related tasks, and also with various local, national, and international federations, doing presentations, and clinics.  He also has experience in organizing sports conferences (in USA, Guatemala & Hong Kong).

 

The format will be as follows:

 

Wednesday May 31st        11 am – 1 pm         ASCA Level 1 Coaching

                                        6 pm – 8 pm          ASCA Level 1 Coaching

Thursday June 1st             9 am – 12 pm         ASCA Level 1 Coaching

                                        6 pm – 8 pm          ASCA Level 2 Coaching

Friday June 2nd                 9 am – 12 pm         ASCA Level 2 Coaching

                                        6 pm – 8 pm          ASCA Level 2 Coaching

Saturday June 3rd             9 am – 12 pm         ASCA Distance Coaching

                                        2 pm – 5 pm          ASCA Distance Coaching

Sunday June 4th                9 am – 12 pm         Wrap up session

 

We invite all coaches throughout the region to take advantage of this clinic in our area.  Special rates for overseas participants can be arranged at the Knutsford Court Hotel, New Kingston.  Transportation to and from the airport will be provided.

 

The Registration fee for clinic is J$500 or US$10.
