Air Jamaica,
the Official Carrier of the National Swim Team, the Amateur Swimming
Association and Island Aquatics have team up to sponsor the
participation of five (5) Synchronized Swimming Judges and Coaches
in training seminars to be held in Dallas, Texas and San Juan,
Puerto Rico.
Coaches Katherine Lim Sang, Susanna
Ogunnaike-Cooke, Suzanne Hendricks and Judge Rose Foster will attend
the Synchro Coaches and Judges Clinic being organized by the Puerto
Rican Swimming Federation in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Clinic will
run from February 6 to 10. Linai de Negri, Director of the
National Synchronized swimming Team of the USA (for the coaches) and
Hortensia Graupera, a FINA Judge from Spain will lead the list of
presenters in San Juan.
Helen Eyre will be traveling to
Dallas Texas to participate in the FINA sponsored World Synchronized
Swimming Judges Seminar, February 2 to 6. FINA’s Synchronized
Swimming Technical Committee members and other presenters will lead
discussions in coaching, judging, medical issues for the synchro
swimmers and other technical matters.
After returning to the island, the
five participants will themselves lead a local judges clinic on
February 17 at the training room of the Sport Development
Foundation, 31 Phoenix Ave.
Air
Jamaica has provided the tickets for travel to Miami and Atlanta.
